Dr. Emmons is a Professor of Psychology, University of California, Davis. He is at the interface of personality psychology, the psychology of emotion and the psychology of religion. His primary interests are in the psychology of gratitude and the psychology of personal goals, and how each is related to positive psychological processes, including happiness, well-being, and personality integration.
Emmons is Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Positive Psychology. He is author of The Psychology of Ultimate Concerns (Guilford Press), The Psychology of Gratitude (Oxford University Press), Words of Gratitude (Templeton Foundation Press) and THANKS! How Practicing Gratitude Can Make You Happier (Houghton-Mifflin).
